ANNE RUTHMANN - A fairy godmother or a sorceress in drag? Childhood fables grow up in 'Twisted Fairytales.'

Ever wonder what happened to the characters from your favorite childhood fables? Did it really end “happily ever after”? What if Mother Goose hid the truth all these years?

Provincetown Business Guild kicks off the summer with the premiere of Twisted Fairytales: What Mother Goose Didn’t Want You To Know.

Produced and directed by Dennis Grundlock of MoonMaxx Productions, this energetic show presents a saucy adult retelling of childhood stories.

Classics collide as Alice steps out of Wonderland and into Mother Goose’s world in this energetic production featuring a cast of nine drag queens, five dancers, and four singers, dozens of costumes, and high-octane musical and dance numbers. Entertainers will draw the imaginations of audience members into hilarious and enchanted tales of what happened after the endings of famous fables.

Presented at Provincetown Town Hall, this spectacular show is on stage for one night only, so don’t miss out! Tickets ($20) are available by phone at (508) 487-2313, in person at the Firehouse (256 Commercial Street) from noon to 4 PM on Friday and Saturday, or at the door of the show.

The production is being presented by the Provincetown Business Guild in conjunction with their Monumental Yard Sale Weekend. The PBG has coordinated business and home owners across Provincetown in a town-wide yard sale taking place on Saturday, May 19 and Sunday, May 20. A complete listing of businesses and residences participating is available on their website, at www.ptown.org.
