West Barnstable singer-songwriter Diana Di Gioia will mark the release of her second album with a free concert at Brewster Ladies Library at 7:30 PM on June 9.  The CD, Either/Or World features 11 original songs and a host of talented local musicians.

Musically, the songs are an eclectic offering of acoustic rock, blues, and folk-rock.  The song “Ptown Pants” celebrates a Saturday night stroll down Commercial Street in Provincetown to “see and be seen."   Other songs draw from Di Gioia’s experience growing up in rural Vermont.

There’s plenty of local talent on this album, drawing from Di Gioia’s band, Out Late, and friends in other local bands. It includes bass player Roe Osborn of Robechez and the Bassomatics. Roe and Phyllis Laudani, who plays spoons, are both from Harwich. Blue Kat Band’s Dan St. Pierre of Cotuit jams on blues harmonica.  Brewster’s Steve Finch of Crabgrass plays lead guitar on two tracks, and as does Randy Patterson of The Fringe on mandolin.

Talented family members also added their voices, including Di Gioia’s wife, Melody Masi , her sister, Maura, and her brother-in-law, Keith Leon, who is also featured on electric lead guitar on the title track.

“So far most of us have only played together in the studio”, says Di Gioia, “it will be fun to have all of us jamming together on stage on June 9th.”   Out Late’s most common live configuration is as a duo, appearing regularly at the Cape Cod Chat House in Dennis.  They’ve also been featured at Cotuit Center for the Arts “Art Barn Songwriter Series”, at local festivals such as Brewster in Bloom, at the Chatham UU’s Summer Music Series, and at numerous area open mics.

Either/Or World was produced by Melody Masi, recorded at Joe’s Garage Studio in Sandwich, and engineered and mastered by Jim Miller of Marstons Mills. It can be ordered on line on CD Baby or iTunes, and will be available at the show .
