Rock Your Pops Off!
By: , November 28, 2011
Tripping Lily, the Eddy Elementary School Chorus, and soprana Nicole Werner will perform a special Holiday Pops concert this weekend with the Cape Cod Symphony Orchestra in celebration of the CSO's 50th Anniversary.
The Cape's favorite folk rock band Tripping Lily blends a unique sound of traditional and contemporary genres. Touted as fresh, energetic, and alive, their pop-rock groundwork is cross-fertilized with folk music and cutting edge vocal harmonies. The band’s unique ability to absorb traditional music while speaking to the here and now is proof of their versatility as contemporary musicians.
A medley of merry music makers, including the adorable Eddy Elementary School Chorus and the beloved Chatham Chorale bring a multi-cultural flavor to the celebration with songs like Mele Kalikimaka, African Noel and Fum, Fum, Fum.
Delight in the heavenly melodies of a White Christmas and Christmas Eve on Cape Cod then "rock around the Christmas tree" with charming newcomer Nicole Werner, a soprana described as “a diminutive charmer with a pure, clear singing voice.”
Add a touch of humor, the popular sing-along, and a visit from good Old Saint Nick, and you’re sure to have a holly jolly time!
